The information contained on this page is designed to assist member churches as you seek to strengthen your church's children ministry.  You are encouraged NOT to simply "cut and paste" the documents.  Rather, make certain  they are made applicable to the specific needs of your church and children's ministry:

TRBA Encourages Background Checks

AT THE VERY LEAST, the local church should develop a policy to do sex offender background checks  on ALL persons that work with children and youth!  Click on the image to the left to go to the National Sex Offender Registry and get a free check.

  • Lifeway US OneSearch- $10  National Criminal and Sex Offender Search, Various Terrorist Watch Lists, Over 400 million felony, misdemeanor, traffic records, and Social Security Validation. (Lifeway Recommended)
  • Protect My Ministry- $20  SSN Verification and Address History, National Criminal Database  Search, National Sex Offender Search, Re-verification of criminal records, Alias Names

How to Order Background Checks:
1. Order Form: This form distinguishes which type of BG check is preferred and must be submitted with the Permission Form.
2. Background Check Permission Form:  This form must be on file with TRBA (along with payment for the background checks) before we can do the background check.
