caleb gibson
community ministries & partnership missions

Picture
Caleb was raised in the Sandhills of North Carolina. The son of a pastor, Caleb has been immersed in the life of the church for as long as he can remember, and he is incredibly thankful for the heritage of faith that his family provided. As a child, his mother led him to faith in a little white Chevy S 10 pickup. 9 years later, during World Missions Week at Camp Caswell, Caleb felt that God was calling him to surrender his life fully to gospel service. Looking back, he sees that God had been leading him to and equipping him for this call all along. In 2014, Caleb enrolled in the College at Southeastern, seeking a degree in Global Studies and praying and planning to go into the international mission field. While he has been overseas on short-term mission trips, God has since opened doors - and opened Caleb's heart - to the mission field of Rural NC.

Caleb served as Associate Pastor of Youth and Outreach.  He fell in love with the church, the community, and the kids he is privileged to serve. Caleb especially enjoys the opportunity to teach the gospel to young people who have never fully heard or understood it before, and seeing them grow in their faith and in their understanding of their role in the mission of God for the church. He and his wife Kylie have led their youth on a short-term mission trip to Western NC and a local missions week in their own community. They love to serve the church and the community where they live.
Caleb and Kylie met at Deep Impact Missions Camp in Hendersonville, NC in 2013. They immediately hit it off and were both attracted to the others' passion for ministry and service. They began dating in 2014, were engaged in 2017 and married in  May of 2018. They are both students at the College at Southeastern and have both committed their lives to serve the church in whatever ways possible. Kylie is studying English and plans to teach. She is also taking classes in counseling and seeking certification in Teaching English as a Second Language. She hopes to use her love for English to teach students to think and write well, and is excited about the possibility of making a difference in their lives.

Caleb is studying Pastoral Ministry, and is passionate about seeing churches become all that they can be. Growing up in the smaller-membership churches his dad has pastored, Caleb is excited about the recent surge of interest in Church Revitalization and Replanting. He loves children and youth ministry, leading worship, and helping to develop outreach and discipleship plans. He also loves to preach and teach the Word, and holds Ezra 7:10 as one of his life verses: "For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach His statutes and rules in Israel." It is Caleb's prayer that he would model this verse well in his life: learning, doing, and teaching others.
Caleb loves to help churches identify and reach the lost and needy in their communities. While lostness doesn't always equate to physical need, meeting physical needs is a way that churches can open doors for the gospel. At TRBA, Caleb seeks to help churches find "doorstops" that will allow them to meet people where they are with the good news of Jesus Christ. Caleb would be happy to connect with you and help you identify and develop a strategy for your church to meet and reach the lost in your community through Community Demographics, community ministries like Christmas Family Ministry and Food Distribution, and partnerships with local schools and organizations like Rebuilding Hope and the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
