Associate Pastor for Youth and Children
Red Bud Baptist Church – Castalia, NC

Red Bud Baptist Church is seeking an Associate Pastor to lead the youth ministry and assist in the children’s ministry. The position includes an annual salary of $24,000.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a heart for the next generation. Pastor Mark Howard is qualified by Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) to supervise an intern, making this an excellent fit for a current seminary student who wishes to earn internship credit.

Part-Time Youth Minister Job Description (20 hrs/week)
Flat Rock Baptist Church – Louisburg, NC


Position Summary
The Youth Minister will lead a Christ-centered ministry that nurtures the spiritual growth
of youth (grades 6-12) through teaching, relationship-building, and engaging programs.
This role focuses on discipleship, communication, and coordination with church
leadership and volunteers. The Youth Minister shall be an ex-officio member of all organizations, departments, and committees relating to the position’s responsibilities and may participate as requested or as preferred. He may not serve as a voting member of these entities except as otherwise provided in the bylaws. The Youth Minister shall be supervised and report to the Pastor.


Key Responsibilities
1. Spiritual Leadership & Teaching
  • Lead weekly Bible study or small group sessions for youth on Sunday
  • mornings and Wednesday evenings (at a minimum).
  • Provide sound, Biblical teaching with applicable life application during all
  • lessons/teaching opportunities.
  • Attend regularly scheduled church services.
  • Offer spiritual counsel to youth and families as needed.
  • When the Pastor is absent or unable to fill the pulpit, a Family Life/Youth
  • Minister who meets all the requirements can assume that responsibility with
  • approval of Deacons.

2. Program Planning; Events (4–5 hrs/week)
  • Plan and promote youth participation in worship, seasonal events, and
  • fellowship activities.
  • Coordinate with the Pastor, Youth Volunteers, and others (which may include
  • the Children’s Ministry Coordinator) to develop a yearly ministry calendar.
  • Encourage and equip volunteers to assist in ministry activities.

3. Communication; Outreach
  • Maintain regular communication with youth, parents, and volunteers about
  • upcoming events and ministry opportunities.
  • Always exhibit an energetic, positive attitude and display good leadership
  • skills while working as a team member with the Church staff and the Church
  • family.
  • Participate in other programs and activities in conjunction with the Church
  • staff and congregation, as necessary and provide support to these programs and activities, including outreach ministries, as appropriate and when possible.

4. Administration; Reporting
  • Meet with and provide updates to the Pastor as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with the church’s Child Protection Policy.
  • Submit and manage the youth ministry budget.

Qualifications
  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for youth ministry.
  • Seminary education (completed or in progress) preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead with integrity, energy, and a team spirit.

Bethlehem Baptist Church in Youngsville, NC is searching for a Part-time Youth Minister. Here are the requirements:
Skills and Competencies:
-Exceptional communication and public speaking abilities in large groups and one on one settings.
-Strong leadership and team-building skills for developing volunteer teams.
-Organizational expertise to manage multiple programs, budgets, and administrative tasks.
-Empathy, cultural awareness, and conflict resolution skills to minister among diverse youth populations.
Working Conditions and Commitment:
-Part time position requiring flexibility for evening, weekend, and travel responsibilities.
-Average of up to 30 hours per week, including some home-office and off site work. (retreats, mission trips, community events, etc.)
-Two year minimum commitment is encouraged to ensure continuity and program stability.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
-Represent the pastor(s) in youth worship services, preaching, engagements, and special events when requested.
-Plan, organize, and lead weekly youth and children's programs, including Bible Studies, small groups, retreats, camps, outing activities, and Sunday Morning Children Services.
-Oversee recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteer leaders, ensuring appropriate and safe youth environments.
-Provide pastoral care, counseling and spiritual guidance toward the needs of youth and children.
-Conduct religious services on scheduled and special occasions (e.g. revival meetings)
-Collaborate with families and other church ministries to integrate young into the wider life and mission of the congregation.
-Assist the pastor(s) in all areas of church ministry as requested, with special emphasis on youth and discipleship.
Qualifications and Character:
-Demonstrated personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the church's statement of faith.
-Bachelor's degree in theology, Christian education, counseling, or related field.
-Minimum of 2 years experience in youth and family ministry (preferred)
-Evidence of integrity, maturity, and a servant's heart, in both personal and professional conduct. 
By adhering to these guidelines and responsibilities, the youth minister will foster a thriving environment where children and teenagers grow in faith, community, and christian character.
